More About Me

Prior to my becoming a Realtor, I was a high school English
teacher. I loved that career, but I left it, temporarily I thought, when our
daughters were born. Several years later when teaching jobs were very scarce, a
friend actually suggested that I "try" real estate since I was always
studying the classified ads and property transfer articles. That was in 1984.
Shortly after that, I discovered that I loved the business. Even today, 30+
years later, I still enjoy marketing properties and helping people buy and sell
the homes of their dreams. The business certainly has changed. No MLS books.
Instead, we rely on computers, digital cameras, smartphones, and every other
kind of technological gadget we can get our hands on. I have always tried to be
a responsible member of the real estate community by continuing my real estate
education and by being an active member of the Board of Realtors. I currently
hold several designations: GRI, ABR, SRS, PSCS. There is always something more
to learn, and I continue to take real estate classes whenever my schedule
permits. I am currently, a member of the CT Realtors and the National
Association of Realtors. Prior to opening Bannon & Hebert Properties LLC
with Mary Ann Hebert, I had been a Realtor with a large firm. My experiences
there were very good, but I must admit that I enjoy being a member of a smaller
firm with an international presence.

 On a more personal
level, when I am not "on the job", I relax by reading, gardening, and
taking long walks. I guess having an active real estate life means that I must
enjoy solitude when I can. I currently live in Middlebury, CT with my husband
Jim. We enjoy spending time together (and apart), but we both agree that
spending time with our family, especially the grandchildren, is what we enjoy
most.
